Crepes with Fillings
Crepes with Fillings
TWEENS (11 - 14 YEARS)
6/27/20262 min read

Crepes are one of those things that look impossibly impressive but are actually very achievable - especially for a tween who's ready to step up their kitchen game. The first perfect crepe is a genuine moment of triumph, and the fillings make it endlessly customisable.
Sweet or savoury, crepes turn an ordinary afternoon into something that feels a little bit Parisian and a lot delicious.
Why This Works
The technique of making crepes - getting the batter right, swirling the pan, flipping at just the right moment - gives tweens a real sense of mastery. It's the kind of skill they'll carry with them and show off for years. Plus, choosing and preparing their own fillings adds a wonderful creative element.
Activity Details
Age Group: Tweens 11–14
Time: 45 minutes
Difficulty: Medium
Serves: 4
What You Need
1 cup plain flour
2 eggs
1½ cups milk
1 tbsp melted butter
Pinch of salt
Butter for cooking
Sweet fillings: Nutella, banana, strawberries, whipped cream, lemon & sugar
Savoury fillings: ham, cheese, spinach, mushrooms, egg
Steps
Whisk flour, eggs, milk, melted butter and salt together until completely smooth. Rest the batter for 15–20 minutes.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a small knob of butter.
Pour a small ladle of batter into the pan and swirl immediately to coat the base thinly.
Cook for 1–2 minutes until the edges begin to lift and the base is lightly golden.
Flip carefully and cook for another 30 seconds.
Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining batter.
Set up a fillings station and let everyone build their own crepe.
