Family Book Club
The conversations that come from a shared book are unlike any others. They go places you'd never expect
TWEENS (11 - 14 YEARS)

Choose a book. Read it together - or alongside each other. Then gather with snacks, drinks and opinions and talk about it. A family book club is one of the most quietly wonderful traditions you can start with a tween — and once you begin, it's very hard to stop.
The conversations that come from a shared book are unlike any others. They go places you'd never expect.
Why This Works
Reading develops empathy, vocabulary, critical thinking and imagination - and discussing books develops all of those things even further. A family book club also gives tweens a structured, respected space to share their opinions and analysis, which is deeply important at this age. It also creates a shared experience and language that strengthens family connection in a unique way.
